K-12 Leaders

Courses

Note from Scott McLeod, Director: the courses listed below were offered at the University of Minnesota, my previous institution, and are no longer available. I am in the process of recreating them here at Iowa State University. In January 2009 we should start a 12-credit, wholly online, Master's-level Technology Leadership graduate certificate. Six 2-credit courses; 4 credits each spring, summer, and winter semester; done in December. Please contact me if you are interested in receiving more information about the certificate (which also can serve as a Master's or doctoral specialization) or individual courses. I'll be glad to add you to the list and send you some more information in September 2008. Thanks!

Our graduate certificate program was the first in the country to be based on ISTE's National Educational Technology Standards for Administrators (NETS-A) and is the only one proven (by the American Institutes for Research) to have statistically significant impacts on participants' technology leadership knowledge, skills, and abilities. We are an ideal mechanism for schools and districts to build their technology-related leadership capacity and are an excellent resource for superintendents, principals, district technology coordinators, media specialists, teachers, and other educators interested in the leadership aspects of K-12 technology.
